In November, the King County Council nearly voted to remove funding from the Studios. Local filmmakers didn't let that happen. 67 people showed up to testify on behalf of Harbor Island Studios, and council members report they got more than 300 emails in 24 hours. After hearing all the filmmakers' passionate testimonies, the council pushed the budget decision back six months to give time to find a way to keep the facility.
